About Me

My name is Li Ping and I am a multimedia designer and lecturer from Malaysia. I currently reside in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.

In 2005 I graduated from Multimedia University with honours in Bachelors of Multimedia (Film and Animation). Following that, I continued my studies at Multimedia University and received my Masters of Multimedia (E-Learning Technologies) in 2007. I love teaching - I am currently a lecturer at the Design Department of RMIT University Vietnam, where I teach design and multimedia subjects, specifically in the area of interactive multimedia and web design.

Teaching and designing are both something I am very passionate about. As a designer, my experiences allowed me to be competent in various areas of multimedia, including animation, video editing, graphic design, desktop publishing, web design etc. As a lecturer, I am very devoted to ensure my students be the best that they can be. Students benefit from my classes because I am a true designer that actually live and breathe design - not just a lecturer that learnt how to operate a software, explain a design principle by reading off books and manuals. The designer part of me never leaves when I am teaching and I make sure every batch of students obtain the necessary skills and in-depth knowledge to be highly competent as they join the workforce.

Aside from teaching and designing, my other passion is dogs. I became a dog training instructor for the Malaysia Kennel Association since 19 years old, where I teach dog owners how to train dogs. I am still a trainer to this date and it's something I enjoy doing every weekend. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, drawing, photography and playing console/computer games. I also play the piano occasionally.

My ambition since young was to be a teacher, an artist and a vet. 17 years later, I am a lecturer, a designer and a dog trainer. Not exactly what I planned for, but I reckon that's close enough! As the saying goes, "Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted." I am very grateful for getting the opportunity to do things that I love doing.
