Introduction to Computer Graphics
| Movie Poster Assignment |
|
 |
This is an Adobe Photoshop assignment for this subject. Students were required to seek high resolution movie posters and blend their own photograph (head only) into the
poster. The blend must be realistic and believable, hence students not only have to use
multiple extraction tools or touchup tools in Photoshop, they had to spend time making
several adjustments to the levels, contrast, colour balance to ensure their face's
photograph actual blends in seamlessly with the characters' body.
This was an interesting assignment that most students enjoyed doing. The outcome was excellent semester after semester - students never fail to fascinate me with their fantastic photography touch-up skills!

Vector Illustration Assignment
This assignment require students to create realistic vector illustrations of themselves in any scene. The vectorized version of themselves must show similarity with the person and reference photographs may be used to trace the person/scenes/props etc.
This is a very challenging task for students, bearing in mind that these are mass communication students with limited experience in executing design works like this. The assignment not only provided students with solid hands-on pracice on Adobe Illustrator, it also allowed students to explore the creativity within them and apply many important design principles.
